About

Our Founder

Lou Ann Wilroy is a certified trauma support specialist (CTSS) and Yoga Alliance registered yoga teacher with over 500 hours of yoga teacher training. She is certified as a Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga facilitator (TCTSY-F) through the Center for Trauma and Embodiment.

Lou Ann’s own healing journey led her to launch Heal and Restore to assist others in connecting with their bodies and breath through yoga and retreats. After decades of juggling a corporate career, family demands, and inconsistent attempts to exercise and engage in self-care, Lou Ann found herself lost and exhausted, suffering from stress-related health issues. Practicing trauma sensitive yoga has provided healing, opening of the heart and mind, and inner balance.

Lou Ann envisioned personalized, one-on-one yoga instruction to help individuals move their bodies in a way that is tailored to work specifically for them, to holistically meet their needs. Through private retreats, Lou Ann serves as a guide and facilitator, providing guests with the opportunity to engage in an array of healing experiences in a private, safe setting, surrounded by nature.

In addition to yoga and retreats, Lou Ann supports organizations in implementing trauma informed culture change. By implementing a trauma informed approach and practices, organizations such as healthcare facilities, schools, and community service providers place an emphasis on understanding, respecting, and appropriately responding to the effects of trauma and adversity. With decades of serving as a health care administrator working to transform health systems to become more equitable and integrated, Lou Ann has the ideal background and experience to provide training and consultation in trauma recovery and trauma informed care.
